Miss Liberia Veralyn Vonleh Launches Empowering Book for Girls: “How I Felt When I First Saw My Period”.

On May 10th, 2025, Miss Liberia 🇱🇷, Veralyn Vonleh, took a powerful step beyond the pageant stage by launching her first book, How I Felt When I First Saw My Period  a heartfelt and educational resource aimed at helping young girls understand and embrace the changes that come with their first menstrual cycle.

The event, held at Monrovia City Hall, drew a large and supportive crowd of young girls, women, parents, and community leaders. Miss Vonleh presented her book with elegance, passion, and sincerity, underlining her commitment to education and women’s health.

Her initiative was proudly supported by Deputy Minister for Administration at the Ministry of State for Presidential Affairs, Miss Cornelia Kruah, who applauded the project for addressing a subject often clouded by stigma and misinformation.

How I Felt When I First Saw My Period” is more than just a book. It’s a movement to promote menstrual health awareness, break taboos, and empower girls through knowledge and self-confidence. Through this work, Veralyn Vonleh proves she is not only a beauty queen but also a champion for education, empowerment, and meaningful change.
